The Veteran Wants to Win: "Don't Know How it Feels"

Måns Zelmerlöw and KAJ have secured each a final spot – at least if you believe the Melodifestivalen club's audience survey. However, there is greater uncertainty surrounding who will take third place.

Everyone seems to agree on who will advance to the final from the fourth qualifying round in Malmö.

The Melody Festival Club asked 1109 people after Friday's rehearsal with an audience, and the betting companies have previously tipped Måns Zelmerlöw as number one and the Finnish-Swedish humor group KAJ as number two.

We would really like to advance to the final, but if we were to become top three, it would also be incredible, says Jakob Norrgård in KAJ after the rehearsal, which became unexpectedly hot after the group got a fire on stage.

I had to change position because it started burning on my legs. I couldn't have my knee so close to the fire, says Axel Åhman.

More Confetti

A recurring topic of conversation around Zelmerlöw has been the confetti that literally swirls around him at the end of the number. During the first rehearsal on Thursday, he got confetti in his mouth, but it didn't stop him from pouring on even more during Friday's rehearsal.

As for my own delivery, I'm very pleased. Then there are a lot of things we need to work on regarding lighting, camera angles, and confetti.

Do you think you'll win?

I dare not say. But I feel that the response so far has been incredible, and I feel secure in that.

Sore Throat

The Melody Festival Club's audience survey indicates that debutant Ella Tiritiello will take third place, while the odds place her at the bottom. She herself is satisfied regardless of how the competition ends. Her voice has sometimes wavered, but it doesn't worry her either.

I've had a sore throat, but I'm used to it, I'm usually hoarse. I have a hoarse voice, so when I get a sore throat, I become a little, oh dear, what are we going to do now?

— It's about resting, drinking a lot of tea, and doing a lot of vocal exercises.

Thriller Ahead

Another artist who has had problems with their voice is Amena, who missed some notes during the rehearsal.

— I haven't had time to practice behind the scenes, so I have to do that to set the number.

If you believe the betting companies, the battle for third place will instead be a thriller between country duo Tennessee Tears and Andreas Lundstedt.

I'd love to win. I've never won before, so I don't know how it feels, says Andreas Lundstedt, who is participating in the Melody Festival for the tenth time.
