It's been great with Mira Jungåker, how she's worked her way back. She's been extremely strong, it's tough with such a tough rehabilitation, says Damkronorna's national team captain Ulf Lundberg.
He traveled to North America to see, among others, Jungåker, who normally plays in Ohio and is now back after injuring herself in the first league match with the club and being forced to undergo surgery.
I can say that she flew forward when I saw them, it was that lovely kick from Mira, says Lundberg.
Sweden is top-ranked in the Olympic Games qualifying group stage, which is decided on home turf in Gävle, against Norway, Denmark, and the Netherlands.
I've never actually met the Netherlands, so it'll be a new experience. They have some skilled SDHL players, and so do Norway and Denmark, so it'll be important that we stick to what we can influence and that we approach with humility, says Lundberg.
February 6: Norway, 6:00 PM.
February 7: Netherlands, 6:00 PM.
February 9: Denmark, 4:00 PM.
The qualifying winner will play Olympic ice hockey in Italy 2026. All matches will be played in Gävle.
