Gustavsson took 43 shots and got an assist for a goal in the winning match against Nashville. Minnesota won with 5–3.
The pass he got points for came in a numerical superiority. He picked up the puck behind the goal and laid it diagonally across the rink, all the way to Joel Eriksson Ek who stood on the opponent's blue line, received it and found the Norwegian Mats Zuccarello in front of the goal. This meant equalizing to 2–2 for Minnesota.
It was nice by "Gus", and the pass afterwards was good, says Zuccarello after the match.
Minnesota's Jonas Brodin then gave Minnesota the lead with 3–2, but Nashville came back with a goal before the home team made it 4–3 and 5–3.
Joel Eriksson Ek also got an assist for the last goal and now seems to be back for real after almost a month's absence due to injury. The match against Nashville was the second on ice again for him.
