There were only 50.6 seconds left in overtime when Alina Müller decided the bronze medal drama in Santagiulia Arena with her 2-1 goal.
"I didn't see, I just heard what happened. I just burst into tears," says Mira Jungåker.
What were you thinking when you left the ice?
What could we have done differently so that we would have walked away with the bronze medal?
“So incredibly fun”
The defender gave Sweden the lead in the bronze medal match with a precision finish from the crossbar. It was Jungåker's second goal of the Olympic tournament and she has been praised for her play in Milan.
Right now it's hard to describe your own journey. I haven't always enjoyed playing hockey that much; I've always just tried to perform. This tournament I went out feeling grateful to be here.
How much have you been able to enjoy during this tournament?
I've had so much fun.
Goalkeeper Ebba Svensson Träff has made a big impact in the tournament when she surprisingly became national team captain Ulf Lundberg's first choice.
I think we played a really good match and did everything to take home the bronze. It's sad that we lost.
What did your teammates say to you afterwards?
No, we have each other's backs all the time, so it was just nice things. I love everyone on this team, so it's tough that we don't get to finish with a bronze.
“Curtain down”
Veteran Hanna Olsson has been part of the Women's Crowns since 2015 and she now got to play for a championship medal for the first time.
"Four is probably the most boring place you can end up," says the 27-year-old.
How did you react when the puck went in?
It's going to be empty. The curtain is down. I'm really sad. I had to try to gather myself a little before I met you (journalists) and hugged even sadder players," she says, and continues:
This is something we've been waiting for so many years and now we felt we had the chance to bring home a medal for Sweden. I would have given all the girls in there a bronze medal.
