+ 12.33, the police receive an alarm about a shooting at Campus Risbergska in Örebro.

A large operation with police, ambulance, and rescue services arrives at the school. While the police approach, rescue personnel wait at a safe distance. Reports of a "suspected serious violent crime" reach the media.

Among the first on the scene is a bus with police trainees, writes Polistidningen later. They quickly receive support from the special task force from Stockholm.

The police on site hear the ongoing shooting – and the police officers are fired upon. When they later search the premises, they find the suspected shooter dead, confirms the police the following day. They believe the perpetrator has shot himself.

+ 13.20: "There is a risk to life," the police announce, having cordoned off the area and urging the public to stay away from the Västhaga area.

A woman who works at a nearby restaurant tells TT that students and teachers have fled into the restaurant.

They are not allowed to leave, so we're keeping them in here. It has become a shelter. The students say that there was a masked man who entered the school or was at the school, says the woman.

Parts of the school have been evacuated, while others are locked in. Students are also trapped in other nearby schools.

I've heard bangs, probably gunfire, says one of the school's principals to SvD.

+ 13.47: The police confirm that a shooting has taken place. Four are injured by gunfire. The number is soon updated to five people shot.

+ 14.12: "The danger is not over. The public MUST stay away," the police announce.

+ 14.19: "Inside the school, it should no longer be ongoing, but the danger is not over," says Evelina Åström, press spokesperson for the police. TT reports at the same time that the perpetrator has taken his life, according to reports.

+ 15:30: The police call a press conference: Five people have been taken to hospital. At the same time, eyewitness accounts of many dead reach the media. Images of what are said to be victims circulate on social media.

+ Around 15.50: The police and national task force strike against what is believed to be the suspected perpetrator's residence in central Örebro.

+ 18.00: About ten people are dead after the shooting, the police announce at a new press conference. The suspected perpetrator is one of the dead. The worst mass shooting in Swedish history is a fact.

+ 23:55: At least eleven people are dead, the police announce.
