He was the player who was praised when the contract was secured in the last home game.
The free kick from the right flank, hit with his left foot in the 26th minute, slipped past everyone.
It initially looked like that. But Ioannis Pittas' short-cut hair touched the ball and the goal was classified as an own goal.
Moberg Karlsson was just as happy anyway. The goal could have been attributed to anyone. The most important thing was that it came. There and then, a long-pressed and anything but well-being IFK Norrköping was on a safe Allsvenskan match.
"You feel crap"
Many say they love pressure, love playing derbies, but for me it's only been anxiety. You feel crap, simply. It's been tough with a knife to the throat, says Moberg Karlsson.
Now it's just relief and we get to enjoy that we secured the contract.
Norrköping's coach Andreas Alm:
We're out of the relegation battle for the first time since the premiere against MFF. We're very happy to end the relegation battle with the frenetic football we play and the quality that seeps out of that intensity.
Moberg Karlsson was the front figure in a Norrköping that played for its existence in the top division. Brave, energetic, with a forward-looking gaze.
After a longer warm-up period, he has gotten going for real – when IFK Norrköping needed him the most. It was so-so with the physique after arriving from Urawa Red Diamonds last summer. Now he looks like the player who left Norrköping for Sparta Prague in 2018.
The second half was just anxiety, with the pressure they had. But we just needed three points and we solved it, says Moberg Karlsson.
Equalizer disallowed
AIK pushed hard for an equalizer after the break. Substitute John Guidetti celebrated 1–1, but the goal was disallowed for a push – a decision AIK had reason to question.
There's no clear push from me. Football is a contact sport. That decision is match-deciding. A strange decision and extremely frustrating, says Guidetti to Max.
AIK is still third in the series but is only one point ahead of Djurgården in the battle for a qualifying spot in the Conference League this summer, ahead of Sunday's last round.
With Norrköping's win, the battle between Halmstad, IFK Göteborg, and Värnamo to avoid 14th place and an Allsvenskan qualifying match against the third in Superettan, currently Landskrona, is on.
