The Swedish charter was said to have space for 180 people, but the final passenger count was 176.

"Unfortunately, some seats could not be filled due to late cancellations. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs tried to fill the seats until the last minute. There are therefore also some Finnish citizens on the plane," writes Malmer Stenergard on X.

According to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, "just over 1,200 individuals were contacted, including families with children under five and individuals with medical needs."

After a stopover in Hurghada, Egypt, the plane is expected to land at Arlanda early on Sunday, provided that the flight can be carried out as planned.

Travelers will have to pay for their tickets, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has said it is aiming for full cost coverage. This means it costs 9,000 kronor for children and 12,000 kronor for adults.
