Calls for a special investigation committee were made earlier this year by MEPs outraged by allegations that the European Commission had given money to organisations to lobby for its policies. In parallel, MEPs want to examine how vaccines were procured during the coronavirus pandemic.
In September, however, the leadership of the European Parliament said no to setting up a special committee. The three party groups on the far right now want the court to overturn that decision.
"Blocking this review only fuels suspicions," writes Charlie Weimers (SD) in a press release together with colleagues from the German AFD and the Dutch PVV.
