Together with teammate Ryan O'Reilly, the Swedish hockey star visited Astrid Lindgren's Children's Hospital ahead of Nashville's doubleheader with Pittsburgh at Avicii Arena.
NHL hockey was playing on the TV screens, but the real game was taking place in the rooms next door.
"It's something you don't like to do, because you don't want any children to have to be in hospital. But in reality, it is, and we are very happy to have the opportunity to come here. It's great fun to meet the children," says Filip Forsberg.
The team makes similar visits back home in Nashville, but for Forsberg it was special to do it on home turf.
This is a little extra fun for me, getting to speak Swedish with the children.
Since Forsberg himself became a father a year ago, meetings like these have taken on a new meaning.
"It's going to be extra special. It could happen to anyone, at any time. It puts everything into perspective. The problems you have on the ice or whatever it is don't matter that much anymore," he says.
On Thursday, Pittsburgh players Erik Karlsson and Rickard Rakell will also visit the hospital.
On Friday and Sunday, the teams will meet in the Avicii Arena.
