The first reports of explosions in the Iranian capital Tehran came shortly after 7 a.m. Saturday, local time in Sweden. Israel announced that the country had launched a “preemptive strike.”

Just over an hour later, Iranian media reported that the attacks were nationwide. Iran and Israel closed their respective airspaces, and in Iran the mobile network was reportedly down.

US President Donald Trump confirmed that the US was participating in a “major combat operation” aimed at crushing Iran militarily. He called on the Iranian people to overthrow the regime. Shortly afterwards, reports emerged of explosions in northern Israel.

In the morning, Iran said it had fired “the first wave” of drones and rockets at Israel. Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Jordan and Kuwait - all of which host US bases - said they had been attacked and that they had shot down missiles in their airspace.

Late Saturday night, US President Donald Trump announced that Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, had been killed. Mohammad Pakpour, leader of Iran's Revolutionary Guard, Defense Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh, and Army Chief of Staff Abdolrahim Mousavi were also killed in the American and Israeli attacks.

On Sunday, Israel carried out more attacks on Iran, and Iran continued to attack Israel. At the same time, explosions were reported from several cities in countries around the Persian Gulf.

On Monday night, the Iranian-backed Islamist movement Hezbollah launched rocket and drone attacks on northern Israel. They were met with a large number of Israeli airstrikes on Hezbollah targets in Lebanon, where at least 52 people were reported to have been killed. Meanwhile, Israel continued to attack Iran and the capital Tehran overnight.

Flames and smoke from a suspected Iranian attack rose from the US embassy in Kuwait, and Kuwait's air defenses, in the heat of battle, accidentally shot down three American fighter jets.

Iran on Monday accused the United States of attacking the nuclear facility in Natanz on Sunday afternoon.

Explosions were once again reported in the emirates of Abu Dhabi and Dubai, as well as in Bahrain.

The Iranian Red Crescent stated on Monday morning that at least 555 people had been killed in Iran since the war began.

During the night of Tuesday, Israel continued to carry out airstrikes against targets in Lebanon and Iran. At the same time, Iran continued to direct drone attacks against several countries in the Middle East. Among other things, the US embassy in the Saudi Arabian capital, Riyadh, was hit, resulting in a fire.
