The aid organization has listed the 20 most difficult humanitarian crises in the world in its annual report .
For the third year in a row, civil war-torn Sudan is at the top. More than 30 million people, half of them children, are in urgent need of humanitarian assistance. 19.2 million are experiencing hunger and over 200,000 are estimated to be in the highest level of famine, according to the UN-backed IPC classification.
After Sudan comes Palestine, specifically Gaza, where the war has led to hunger and disease outbreaks, and South Sudan, which is said to be on the brink of civil war.
The world's conflicts are getting longer and deadlier – and more numerous, writes the International Rescue Committee. There are now more conflicts going on than at any time since World War II, according to the report.
