The electric car manufacturer rose 3.6 percent after the announcement that the CEO Elon Musk bought shares in the company for the equivalent of 9.3 billion kronor. Before this week's trading, the share had fallen slightly, counted from the turn of the year.
The share in the chip giant Nvidia, which is accused by a Chinese authority of having breached the country's competition laws, closed unchanged.
The competitor Intel rose instead 2.9 percent. The increase came after the sale of the company's 51 percent stake in Altera was completed. The buyer was the investment company Silver Lake.
The broad S&P 500 index rose 0.5 percent, the Dow Jones industrial index 0.1 percent and Nasdaq's technology-heavy composite index 0.9 percent.
