The tent camp outside Gothenburg University is to be dismantled. This is clear after The Liberals in Gothenburg applied for a permit for a public gathering at the site.

It's a shorter manifestation where we will gather citizens to mark that we think laws and rules are the same for everyone. And that parks are for everyone, says municipal councilor Axel Darvik (L) to TT.

Darvik is critical of the red-green government in Gothenburg City – the Social Democrats together with the Left Party and the Green Party – allowing the tent camp to remain for several months.

The tent camp – a protest against the war in Gaza and a way to get the university to break its cooperation with Israeli educational institutions – was set up in the spring by a group of demonstrators and has since then evoked strong emotions.

At the latest by Thursday, the tents must be removed from the site before The Liberals' public gathering on Friday.
