Tens of Thousands Protest Meloni’s Policies as Italy Holds Nationwide Strike

Italy was marked by demonstrations and a nationwide general strike on Friday.

Over 100,000 people, according to several unions over a million, demonstrated in a long line of cities against rising living costs and against Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni's policies.

According to the media, most of the demonstrations were peaceful, but in Rome and Genoa, among others, police have clashed with protesters, reports Rai.

In the capital, thousands of demonstrators have set up tents at the Colosseum, to hold "a large national assembly this weekend while waiting for a response from the government," writes La Repubblica.

The organizers hope to gather even more people for that demonstration, says Tonino Monfeli, president of one of the farmers' unions.

We have tractors, Meloni has robots and drones that kill people.
