The 15-year-old is also being prosecuted for serious weapons offenses and serious crimes against the law on flammable and explosive goods in connection with the murder. He was arrested after a police chase immediately after the shooting on May 13. The chase was captured on film and shows how he throws himself into the Fyris River before being arrested.
The boy was also armed with a hand grenade during the shooting. Both the grenade and the pistol were found in the river by police divers in August after "repeated search efforts", the Prosecution Authority writes in a press release.
From the indictment, it appears that he admits to the course of events.
Prosecutor Andreas Nyberg tells UNT that the boy had taken on a vague assignment to "shoot someone" at the restaurant. The investigation has not been able to show who the target was.
The man who was shot to death had come to Sweden from Egypt in March this year to work, according to UNT. According to a relative, he had traveled to Sweden to save money for his children's weddings. In Egypt, he had a wife and nine children, six of whom are minors.
The 15-year-old is also being prosecuted for two explosions in the Stockholm area. One explosion was carried out with the help of two hand grenades, the other with a so-called thermos bomb.
The prosecutor is seeking to have the boy deported in the event of a conviction.
A 17-year-old boy is being prosecuted for aiding and abetting the murder. He has, according to the prosecutor, provided the 15-year-old with the pistol and hand grenade. He is also being prosecuted for, among other things, serious weapons offenses. Three more people between the ages of 15 and 17 are being prosecuted for failure to disclose the murder.
