The teacher suspected of having taped the mouths of several children in a preschool class in Gothenburg has now been fired, reports P4 Gothenburg.
The taping – which is said to have taken place during December and January – was used by a teacher as punishment for noise and chatter. At least eight children are said to have been affected.
The story was revealed in February and the teacher was suspended simultaneously as several parallel investigations were launched.
The teacher is being fired in connection with the conclusion of Gothenburg's elementary school administration's investigation.
The events are also being investigated by the police after at least three parents and the school have reported the teacher to the police. According to the school, the teacher has admitted to the actions.
