A nasty scene unfolded when Toronto's Chris Tanev collided with Philadelphia's Matevi Michkov in last night's NHL game. When the drama subsided, however, Swede Calle Järnkrok, among others, ensured that Toronto took home the victory with a 5–2 away win.

Sunday's game was Tanev's first back after missing four games due to an upper body injury that kept him out. At first things went well and the Canadian managed to score two goals for Toronto before the accident.

In the 12th minute of the final period, the collision occurred. Tanev reportedly hit his head and several media outlets described the incident as “nasty.” Play was stopped and Tanev received treatment on the ice before being carried away on a stretcher. When he was lifted away, he gave a thumbs up, but was taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation.

"He's moving and I think he's going to be fine. But he's got to get some tests done now, so we'll know more in a little while," coach Craig Berube said, according to nhl.com .

The match was later resumed and in the last minute Calle Järnkrok scored the fifth and decisive goal for his Toronto.
