The Syrian military is ordering Kurdish forces to leave an area east of Aleppo. The call comes after Kurdish forces were forced to leave two areas inside Aleppo on Sunday.

State television shows a statement from the military with a map of an area described as a “closed military zone.” The area begins near Dayr Hafir, about fifty kilometers east of Aleppo.

On Monday, Syria accused the Kurdish-led SDF of sending reinforcements to Dayr Hafir, and the military reportedly sent reinforcements there in response.

An AFP correspondent reports the military is sending reinforcements to the area on Tuesday. The SDF denies having reinforced its forces in the area.

The fighting erupted last Tuesday after a stalemate emerged in political negotiations between Syria's new government and the SDF.
