The Swiss parliament has voted through a law that bans the Lebanese Islamist movement Hezbollah.
The ban comes a week after a similar decision that stops the Islamist Hamas from operating in the country.
The decisions are unusual, Switzerland has previously only banned the terrorist organizations IS and al-Qaeda.
Proponents argue that Hezbollah is a threat to international security and that Switzerland must take a stand against terrorism. But the government is critical of the decision, citing that the country's position as a neutral mediator is threatened.
If Switzerland now bans such organizations with special laws, we must ask ourselves where and how the boundaries should be drawn, said Justice Minister Beat Jans during the debate according to Times of Israel.
