"Those who support doping in sports are not welcome in the International Swimming Federation or in our competitions. This new rule enables us to protect our competitions and the health and safety of our athletes as well as the credibility of our sport", says the International Swimming Federation's chairman Husain al-Musallam in a press release.

Swimming, athletics, and weightlifting are the sports in "The Enhanced Games") to be held in Las Vegas on May 21-24 next year, where doping is allowed.

Three-time OS medalist James Magnussen, Australia, is one of those who has said he will participate. The 34-year-old stopped swimming in 2019.

The winners in each event will receive 2.4 million kronor, and if a participant beats a world record time in swimming's short distances or in the 100-meter dash, a bonus of approximately 9.5 million kronor awaits.
