The man was a Swedish citizen and a member of a Persian-speaking Christian congregation in Västerås, Pastor Hossein Bahrami says; he also says the man was buried in Tehran last week.
"We had a memorial service for him at church last Sunday and people are mourning him both here in Sweden and in Iran," Bahrami tells the newspaper.
The last picture the man posted on his social media shows him participating in anti-regime demonstrations. According to relatives, the body was later found mutilated and shot, and the man could be identified by tattoos.
Sources in Iran state that the death toll in the protests could exceed 30,000.
