Elvira Öberg was the third Swede, finishing 27th, 1.38 minutes behind the Norwegian winner Maren Kirkeeide.
She, like her sister Hanna and Linn Gestblom, had a good chance of a medal after the first shooting, but then each missed two shots in the standing stage.
And the worst thing, Elvira Öberg says, is that she has no explanation for why she not only struggles on the shooting range but also in skiing.
"I feel refreshed and have done everything I could to recharge. And yet it looks like this," she says.
"I had the worst race of the entire season when I had prepared the most for it."
“Can turn quickly”
She says it's just a matter of reloading and looking forward to the start of the pursuit.
"I know it can change quickly," she says.
In Hochfilzen before Christmas, she went from 29th in the sprint, +1.21 minutes behind, to victory in the pursuit.
"I know I can make good pursuit starts," she says.
Elvira Öberg says it's tough for everyone on the team after a day when the top Swede, Hanna Öberg, finished 18th.
"It's clear that we all want more. But it's just a matter of recharging. It's been possible to turn around bad results in the past."
French surprise
Hanna Öberg, Linn Gestblom and Elvira Öberg had a chance to medal after the first shooting round, which was flawless. Then they each missed two shots in the standing stage. They finished 18th, 22nd and 27th.
Anna Magnusson missed three shots and finished 35th.
The gold went to Norway's Maren Kirkeeide, the French surprise Océane Michelon took silver and compatriot Lou Jeanmonnot took bronze.
