"Now I'm the best in the world and goalless for once. Think about the little girl who played on the street at home and dreamed of becoming the best in the world actually became it", she says in a press release.
The 23-year-old plays for Umeå team Thorengruppen on a daily basis and has been outstanding for many years. Last season, she was named "player of the year" by the Swedish Floorball Federation, but now she's also the best outside of Sweden's borders.
"It's an incredible feeling, but at the same time, I've put in a lot of hard work for this", she continues.
In the motivation, Floorball Magazine, which is behind the award, writes:
"During 2024, she has taken her game to new heights by developing her offensive register and becoming a greater threat up front. This has resulted in decisive contributions for club team Thorengruppen in SSL, the Swedish Cup, and Champions Cup, as well as for the Swedish national team."
On the men's side, the prize went to the Finn Justus Kainulainen.
