Not only the Öberg sisters but also Ella Halvarsson and Linn Gestblom have chosen to skip the World Cup competitions in Nove Mesto. At the same time, one last Olympic spot on the Swedish women's team is at stake.

The biathletes are competing this week for the last time before the Olympics. Anna Magnusson stands out on the women's side as the only Olympic-qualified skier competing.

The other four – Hanna Öberg, Elvira Öberg, Linn Gestblom and Ella Halvarsson – are instead heading to Livigno to recharge at high altitude.

Anna-Karin Heijdenberg and Johanna Skottheim are both on the starting line in Nove Mesto and appear to be the duo competing for the sixth and final Olympic spot.

On the men's side, all six Olympic-qualified Swedes are competing.

The women's squad: Anna Hedström, Anna Magnusson, Anna-Karin Heijdenberg, Annie Lindh, Johanna Nordqvist, Johanna Skottheim.

The men's squad: Henning Sjökvist, Jesper Nelin, Malte Stefansson, Martin Ponsiluoma, Sebastian Samuelsson, Viktor Brandt.

The competitions:

Thursday: Sprint, men.

Friday: Sprint, women.

Saturday: Single mixed relay and mixed relay.

Sunday: Mass start, men and women.
