She only had one chance last time and still scored. She couldn't even start in the fateful Swedish match in Odense.
But Danish goal queen Pernille Harder didn't need many minutes to add another goal to her scoresheet once she was substituted in the second half.
The 33-year-old Bayern Munich striker's 84th career national team goal gave Denmark a 2-1 lead and a big step towards a World Cup spot.
For Sweden, it looked similar to their meeting earlier this year: lots of chances, but far fewer goals.
"We are not up to par. We have problems and they (Denmark) are skilled. In the first half we were far from where we want to be. I don't know what it's about," Johanna Rytting Kaneryd told SVT.
Rematch
For example, Sweden hit the post three times when Denmark won 2-1 in Gothenburg in April. This time it was the crossbar that prevented an early lead, when Smilla Holmberg finished strongly after a good Swedish attack a few minutes into the match.
Apart from that, however, Denmark took command immediately.
Jennifer Falk made some early saves. But after just over 20 minutes, the Danes played their way, rather easily, through the Swedish defence, and Cecilie Fløe scored 1-0.
At that point, Sweden were out of the running for a direct place at the World Cup in Brazil next year. In addition, the Swedes played a fairly lacklustre attacking game in the first half.
Early in the second half, however, Sweden struck back.
Felicia Schröder hit the crossbar, but on the rebound from her header, Johanna Rytting Kaneryd was in front and pushed in to make it 1-1.
Italy next
However, the hope of a World Cup spot did not last long. A few minutes after Pernille Harder was brought on, Denmark regained the lead.
After the Danish goal, national team coach Tony Gustavsson made changes, bringing on Fridolina Rolfö among others; Rolfö had a great chance to head home in the final minutes.
Now Sweden will instead have to prepare for playoff games this fall.
The World Cup qualifiers end for Sweden on Tuesday against Italy, who beat Serbia 3-0 on Friday evening and thus moved into second place in the table.
