A record number of recovery claims have been directed at sick workers. We see that the Swedish Social Insurance Agency has increasingly become a debt collector for the Enforcement Authority, says Nadja Awad, V’s chair of the Social Insurance Committee.
The Social Insurance Inspectorate (ISF) found in an audit that six out of ten repayment claims from the Swedish Social Insurance Agency had legal deficiencies.
V believes that the Committee on the Constitution (KU) should examine whether the minister has steered the agency in a direction that means decisions are not based on the principles of the rule of law.
What we see is that the Swedish Social Insurance Agency has increasingly been steered towards working in the opposite direction, granting a record number of recovery claims based on legally uncertain grounds, says Awad.
