Fredrik Joulamo, sports director and team manager at the Swedish Olympic Committee (SOK), is pleased to announce the news.
Very exciting, they have had an exceptionally rapid development. Internationally, you can say that you have rarely, if ever, seen such rapid progress in such a young ice-dancing couple. Nikolaj and Milla are selected under the future criterion. It will be super exciting to see them in Milan, says Joulamo.
“The clock is ticking”
Majorov and Reitan secured the international quota place for the Winter Games in 2026. In addition, Reitan has now been granted Swedish citizenship. The 20-year-old is originally a Norwegian citizen but has lived in Sweden for a long time and was able to apply for and be granted citizenship as late as December 2025.
"Of course there was time pressure, the clock was ticking. But we did what we could," says Majorov.
Reitan adds:
It hasn't affected training. We've just been working hard to perform as well as possible at the upcoming championships and Olympics.
More names selected
The Swedish Olympic squad is also growing with seven more participants. Cornelia Öhlund, Estelle Alphand (both alpine skiing), Truls Gisselman, Gustaf Berglund (both cross-country skiing), Rasmus Stegfeldt, Robin Olgård (both moguls) and Linnea Mobärg (ski cross) have been selected for the Olympics.
“The Olympic squad is growing and now we have 74 participants,” says Joulamo.
