"By fully cooperating with our friends and allies in NATO, we strengthen the security of Sweden, Europe and NATO," says Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (M).
The operation begins on October 1 and will last two months. This is the second time that Swedish fighter jets have participated in airspace surveillance from Poland - in the spring of 2025, Gripen aircraft with pilots were based in the country.
"The serious security situation and the recurring violations of NATO airspace show the need for high military readiness on the eastern flank," says Defence Minister Pål Jonson (M).
