We are on our way to introducing things that are not good for Sweden. Labor immigration is and should be a plus business for Sweden, he says to Dagens Nyheter.
The proposal means that those who come to Sweden to work should have an income above the median salary, which is currently 37,100 kronor. Johan Britz believes that this can have major consequences.
Then it will be very difficult for many companies and public employers to hire people from other countries that Sweden needs, he says.
SD: Political game
The salary requirement has already been raised during the term of office, and is now 29,680 kronor, equivalent to 80 percent of the median salary.
The Sweden Democrats' migration policy spokesperson Ludvig Aspling writes in a comment to TT that the issue is currently being discussed in the coordination, the office where the four Tidö parties are trying to agree.
"My impression is that none of what Britz expresses has found its way to the negotiating table. I therefore have difficulty interpreting his move as anything other than political game."
In late July, the Migration Agency and the Employment Agency also presented a list of 152 shortage occupations that they propose should be exempt from the tightened salary requirement. This includes, among other things, teachers, construction workers and healthcare personnel.
The Minister's response
Migration Minister Johan Forssell (The Moderate Party) writes in a comment that a legislative proposal is being prepared and that he does not negotiate the content in the media.
"I want to be clear that we Moderates will always advocate a policy that is both competitive and ensures that all who work in Sweden have good working conditions, but also that more people who are already in Sweden take the available jobs", he says.
