The blue-and-yellow men are already qualified for the knockout phase, but will play group games on Saturday and Sunday that will determine the seeding in the tournament.
In the first match, South Korea were convincingly defeated 3–0.
However, it was not a 3–0 victory against host nation England.
Mattias Karlsson (formerly Falck) lost to Tom Jarvis 1–3. Anton Källberg responded with a 3–0 win against Samuel Walker before star Truls Möregårdh, ranked world number two, took a 3–0 victory against Connor Green, ranked 182nd.
The fourth singles match was a short affair when Källberg closed the match against Jarvis.
On Sunday, China awaits in the final seeding match.
The World Team Table Tennis Championships for men and women will be held in London from April 28 to May 10.
Sweden's matches:
Saturday: South Korea (win 3–0), England (3–1).
Sunday: China (1:30 p.m.).
The other top group on the men's side features France, Japan, Germany and Taiwan. The first round of 16 matches will be played on Monday.
The other national teams will begin by playing in four-team groups - 14 groups in total - with the top six and the six best runners-up advancing to the knockout phase. The other eight runners-up play a knockout round where four teams advance.
The Swedish women participate in the first phase of the tournament in a group with Costa Rica, Canada and Sri Lanka. On the women's side, the top seven are China, South Korea, Taiwan, Romania, Japan, Germany and France.
