The agreement concerns the vehicle-borne mine-laying system Skorpion 2, which lays anti-tank mines, and has been signed with the German manufacturer Dynamit Nobel Defence.
A first call for approximately SEK 900 million has been made.
"This acquisition is important for strengthening the defense of Swedish and allied territory. Anti-tank mines continue to be of great importance for the ability to prevent and delay the advance of enemy forces on the ground," says Jonas Lotsne, head of FMV's Army Materiel area.
Skorpion 2 is capable of laying 400 mines in ten minutes and can be used with several different vehicle platforms.
