"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is aware that a Swedish citizen has been injured in connection with the accident," the ministry said in a message to the channel.
The accident occurred when a high-speed train between Malaga and Madrid derailed and collided with another train. Around 40 people were confirmed dead on Monday morning, while more than 120 were reported injured.
