The Swede was arrested in the Sebezhsky district of Russia’s Pskov region, near the Estonian border, and is said to have “planned terrorist attacks against military facilities” in Russia, Tass reports.
“Under the pretext of joining the Russian Armed Forces, he was on his way to the Russian Federation to commit sabotage and terrorist acts against military facilities,” the FSB said in a statement, according to Tass.
In a video circulating in Russian state media, the man is seen being interrogated by Russian security services.
Sweden has little information so far about the Swede who is reported to have been arrested in Russia, Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (M) says.
“We have only received this through media reports, Russian media reports from the beginning. We are trying to investigate this through our embassy in Moscow,” Kristersson says on his way to today’s EU summit in Brussels.
