Anguish hangs over the defeated Swedish cross-country skiers after the 10 km freestyle. And now the relay awaits. "Sad," says Edvin Anger.

Like other Swedes, the 23-year-old is far from the form that made him a double bronze medalist in the two relays at last year's World Ski Championships in Trondheim.

"We're all solid," Anger notes.

Finding form for Sunday's men's relay will not be easy.

"We have to hope for a miracle," says Anger, who finished 42nd in the 10 km freestyle.

Truls Gisselman finished 40th, Gustaf Berglund 29th, and William Poromaa 20th. Still, that quartet could very well become a Swedish relay team on Sunday.

Maybe Calle Halfvarsson will join the team - his chances were at least not diminished by the fact that the others were so far behind.

"Absolutely. He and Johan Häggström are here, so we have to evaluate them against those who went today," says national team captain Anders Byström.
