On Saturday at 1:00 p.m., the Olympic skiing competitions will begin with the women's skiathlon. Here is the Swedish team.

As expected, Frida Karlsson, Ebba Andersson, Jonna Sundling and Moa Ilar will race.

"We go into this with positive feelings, of course. The World Cup in Trondheim last year was great for us. We should have reasonable expectations, but the girls are charged up and it will be really fun on Saturday," says national team manager Anders Byström.

During the World Ski Championships in Trondheim last year, Ebba Andersson won gold in skiathlon and Jonna Sundling took home the bronze.

When the skiathlon was run at the World Cup in December, Andersson was third, followed by Moa Ilar and Frida Karlsson in fourth and fifth place respectively.

"We have done well in skiathlon before, so it is something that suits us well. We will do our best in all races and then we have a chance, we know that," says Byström about Sweden's medal chances in the distance.

At the 2022 Olympics, there was no Swedish medal in the skiathlon; Ebba Andersson came fourth.

"I like the courses. They are tough and demanding, but I still see that they suit all of us," says Moa Ilar about the courses in Val di Fiemme.

The race consists of 10 kilometers of classic and 10 kilometers of free skiing.
