The quiet week, which begins on Sunday and ends on Easter Sunday, promises warm weather for the season during the coming days, and sunshine opportunities in most of Sweden on Tuesday, according to the SMHI forecast.
The temperatures are above normal for the time of year. It will get progressively warmer and warmer, says SMHI meteorologist Anders Wettergren.
On Monday, primarily Götaland and Svealand will get 10-15 degrees, while Norrland will get 5-12 degrees.
On Tuesday, the thermometers will take a leap upwards, with up to 18 degrees in southern Sweden, and in parts of Götaland, it may reach 20-22 degrees, which will be the warmest during Maundy Thursday and Easter Friday.
The winds will come from the south during this period, bringing warm air with them, says Wettergren.
On Maundy Thursday, the current forecast suggests that it will reach up to 21 degrees in Halmstad, 18 degrees in Gävle, 16 degrees in Östersund, and 9 degrees in Kiruna.
But don't count on radiant sunshine every day of the week. On Wednesday, a precipitation area will simultaneously move in over Svealand and continue northwards.
On Easter Friday, another precipitation area is expected to bring rain to parts of the country, according to the forecast.
The forecast is still uncertain since it's far ahead in time, but it's likely that rain will come from the west on Easter Friday, says Wettergren.
