For the sixth time, the industry organization Swedish Water has held the "Tap Water Competition". During the autumn, ten competitions have been held around the country and a total of 80 municipalities have participated.
Some of the finalists in the competition included the water in Södertälje Municipality, which is said to have a "gentle lime tone" that "creates curiosity," and Härnösand Municipality, which has "good aftertaste."
But the winner was the water in the municipality of Älvsbyn: “A star water that is just as good in a mug as in a crystal glass.” Silver place went to the municipality of Vindeln, and bronze went to the municipality of Jönköping.
The jury was chaired by wine writer Gunilla Hultgren Karell and the jury included sommelier Mischa Billing.
In addition to the top three, the remaining finalists in the competition were: Nacka, Ovanåker, Södertälje, Stockholm, Boden, Umeå, Vindeln, Sundsvall, Härnösand, Mora, Malung, Hagfors, Eda, Svenljunga, Jönköping, Laholm, Hylte, Hässleholm and Varberg.
