Luxembourg's goal was scored by Swedish familiar face Seid Korać, who previously played in Degerfors. Korać was left completely free at a corner and could easily head in 1–0 in the 23rd minute.
It's very tough. There's a lot that doesn't work in the game today, we're not doing what we're supposed to and what we've talked about, says Robin Olsen and continues:
Of course, it's a training match, but it can't look like this, regardless of whether it's a training match, a competitive match or a qualifying match.
In the first half, Sweden had several chances to take the lead, but failed to get the ball in. Among other things, Carl Starfelt missed a huge opportunity in the ninth minute.
Closer to 2–0 than 1–1
In the second half, it looked even tougher for Sweden.
Robin Olsen had to make several sharp saves to avoid a two-goal deficit, and there were few dangerous scoring opportunities for the Swedish side.
In the 72nd minute, Jesper Karlström called for a penalty after being pulled and stepped on the heels, but he got no response from referee Luca Cibelli.
There was never a Swedish goal, and the loss was a fact.
I'm disappointed with the result, it's not good enough, of course. We didn't play according to our principles. We have too many touches on the ball, are too slow, we lose the ball and second balls. This is a step back, so now we have to take a step forward again, says national team coach Jon Dahl Tomasson.
New chance on Tuesday
Several key players are missing from the squad, including Viktor Gyökeres, Dejan Kulusevski, and Hugo Larsson.
The squad contains several debutants and players without national team experience. Jon Dahl Tomasson also chose some rotation in the starting lineup to test new players.
But the national team coach had higher expectations.
We haven't played together for a long time, not in about four months, and there are some new faces here. But we must of course still play much better, and I'm definitely not satisfied with the result, he says.
Sweden plays a training match against Northern Ireland at the National Arena in Stockholm on Tuesday.
