WHO, together with Africa CDC, has launched an effort to tackle the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and neighboring countries such as Uganda.
"Sweden's support for the WHO is crucial to strengthening the vital response to stop the spread of infection and to provide life-saving interventions," says Benjamin Dousa (M), Minister of Development Assistance and Foreign Trade, in a comment to TT.
He adds that a rapid response is important to save lives, limit the consequences and stop the spread of the disease.
According to the latest figures, 471 cases in the outbreak have been confirmed, including 84 deaths.
