Sweden has placed an order for grenades and propelling charges for the Archer artillery system worth five billion kronor.
It is the largest procurement in the field of artillery ammunition in over 40 years, says Minister of Defence Pål Jonson (The Moderate Party) to TV4 News.
It is important to replenish the Swedish stocks because a lot of artillery ammunition is being used in Ukraine.
What we have learned from the war in Ukraine is that high-intensity warfare is large-scale, it is very large volumes, says Jonson.
The first deliveries will arrive already this year.
