The hotel summer in Sweden was strong with almost six percent more occupied hotel rooms than 2024, according to the trade organization Visita.

A strong August, where the number of sold hotel rooms increased by 5 percent in Stockholm and 9 percent in Malmö, made the total summer result reach a record level, according to preliminary figures from Benchmarking alliance in a press release from Visita.

Outside the major cities, demand increased by just over 6 percent.

Accommodation revenue increased by 8 percent, which was most noticeable in June and August and then driven by several larger events.

Both Swedish and foreign guest nights increased during June and July. In particular, the number of foreign guest nights from our neighboring countries increased. Norwegian guest nights increased by almost 80,000 and Danish, Finnish and American increased by about 50 percent compared to 2023, according to the Swedish Agency for Growth Policy Analysis' accommodation statistics.

The Swedish Agency for Growth Policy Analysis' statistics do not compare with 2024, since there was faulty reporting in that year's statistics.
