The Sweden Democrats' deputy party leader, Henrik Vinge, praises how the EU and other European countries have stood up to Donald Trump over Greenland. He believes many on the right are disappointed with developments under Trump.

- It does not in any way fulfill the promises that I think many people with right-wing political views had hoped for, says Vinge in Ekot's Saturday interview.

Many on the right expected the Trump administration to be a showdown with political correctness and left-wing forces. To some extent, that has happened, according to Vinge.

But what they also got was unpredictability and the U.S. that is no longer prepared to take on the responsibility that everyone else expects them to take.

Trump's actions towards Greenland are very difficult to understand, according to Vinge. Vinge said he was given hope when Europe said no, and also said that EU cooperation has "a very large potential to give Europe greater weight and a stronger voice in the world."
