Sweden started the match strongly right away. Alexander Isak created the first good scoring chance, and that was just the beginning. Minutes later, Yasin Ayari found Isak and put Sweden in the lead.
Romania then came into the game, and the Swedish midfield - with Ayari and Bergvall - struggled to keep up. Half an hour in, striker Dennis Man rounded Swedish centre-back Victor Nilsson Lindelöf and made it 1–1.
Gyökeres: "There are spaces"
The first half looked set to end goalless, but right at the end, Viktor Gyökeres stepped forward and scored to make it 2–1.
We created some, there were spaces and I was involved in the game, says Arsenal's attacking star.
In the second half, many thought the win was sealed. Elliot Stroud received the ball outside the penalty area and fired a powerful shot into the top corner to make it 3–1. However, the goal was ruled out after VAR detected a handball by Alexander Isak in the first half.
Holm left injured
It didn't get any better for Sweden when Emil Holm, who missed the World Cup due to an injury, writhed in pain and was carried off on a stretcher with a suspected injury to the back of his thigh.
Romania stepped up and pressured Sweden, but never came close to equalising. Blue and yellow won 2–1 and next up is Poland on Monday. That match will also be played at Strawberry Arena.

Sweden plays in the B division together with Romania, Poland and Bosnia-Herzegovina.
The winner is promoted to the A division and fourth place is relegated to the C division.
