”While the humanitarian disaster in the Gaza Strip continues, there is an acute need to scale up the medical treatment of patients from Gaza”, the statement published by Denmark's Ministry of Foreign Affairs reads.
The countries say they are ready to contribute financially, with healthcare personnel and with equipment.
At the same time, they urge Israel to re-establish a ”medical corridor” from Gaza to the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and to lift the restrictions on medicine deliveries into the region.
In addition to Sweden, several other countries, including Denmark, Finland, France, Canada and the United Kingdom, have signed the statement.
