The Swede is suspected of having attempted to shoot a person who was at a hair salon in the Nørrebro district of Copenhagen. The intended target is, according to the police, a member of a criminal gang in the northwestern part of Copenhagen.

The attempt failed because the door was locked, and the perpetrator then fled. The 18-year-old denies the crime.

The Danish police write on X that they believe the Swede was hired for a murder assignment. Two people linked to the criminal gang Loyal To Familia, which is banned in Denmark, arranged a hotel room and clothes for the 18-year-old, according to the police.

Before he was extradited to Denmark on Monday, he had been in prison in Sweden for another crime.

Last spring and summer, young Swedes were involved in a number of violent crimes in Denmark. Several of them have been sentenced to long prison terms, including a 17-year-old who was sentenced to eight years in prison for an attempted murder on Blågårds Plads in Nørrebro.
