The 32-year-old was arrested last week after he swallowed the jewelry in a shop in Auckland. He has been in police custody since then.
A police officer was assigned to guard the man at the Wellington station while nature took its course.
"Police can confirm that the pendant has been recovered," they said in a statement on Friday.
The piece of jewelry is valued at just over SEK 181,000 and is made by the jewelry company Fabergé in a special edition inspired by the James Bond film "Octopussy" from 1983. The film is about stealing a rare Fabergé egg.
The gold pendant resembles one of Fabergé's famous eggs and is decorated with, among other things, 60 white diamonds and 15 blue sapphires. Inside is a miniature gold octopus, with black diamond eyes.
