The woman was sentenced to prison but did not show up at the prison. Now she is instead being held in custody on suspicion of involvement in a shooting death in Södertälje last Friday. On Thursday, another person was taken into custody on suspicion of involvement in the murder.

An 18-year-old man was killed and a young man was injured in a shooting in Södertälje on Friday evening. According to LT, they were sitting in a car when they were shot.

The night after the murder, a woman and a man, both in their 30s, were arrested on suspicion of involvement. On Wednesday, the woman was remanded in custody for murder and attempted murder, while the man was remanded in custody for aiding and abetting.

The woman was sentenced to three years in prison for a serious drug offense in April of this year. According to a decision from the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, she was supposed to report to prison to begin serving her sentence no later than the day before the murder in Södertälje, but she did not show up.

Prosecutor Robert Damberg, who is leading the murder investigation, does not want to comment on the information.

"I will not comment at all on what we know and do not know in the investigation now, it is at such a critical stage," he tells TT.

On Thursday, a third person was arrested in the case. He is a man in his 30s who is also suspected of murder. It is unclear whether both he and the woman are suspected of firing shots in connection with the incident.

"I cannot comment on the circumstances behind any suspicions, nor what roles the various suspects have had," says Robert Damberg.

The suspects deny any wrongdoing.
