Spanish police have arrested three "extremely dangerous" suspected mafia members, wanted in Italy for, among other things, attempted murder, arms smuggling, and money laundering.
According to the police, one of the suspects is the leader of a "dangerous family clan" in the Neapolitan Camorra, the others are his son and son-in-law. The three were arrested in Marbella.
The investigation began when the Spanish police discovered that the leader, suspected of money laundering, had fled from Italy to Spain. He was tracked to a house in Marbella, which he almost never left, according to the police statement.
The son is accused of attempted murder and arms smuggling and risks a 30-year prison sentence. The son-in-law, accused of drug smuggling and tobacco smuggling, can be sentenced to 20 years in prison.
The operation was carried out in collaboration with the Italian police.
