The man suspected of murdering an ambulance paramedic in Harmånger had spoken of having an “urge to kill.” But the employer never warned his staff.

This is reported by Kalla fakta on TV4.

The female ambulance paramedic was killed on September 20 during an emergency call. Six weeks before the murder, an ambulance was called to the man's home in Harmånger. He said he felt an urge to kill someone. The ambulance personnel reported the threat to their immediate superior, but the employer did not warn the staff that the patient could be dangerous.

It is already known that just three days before the murder, the man attacked another ambulance paramedic with a baseball bat. Even then, the staff was not informed.

Work environment expert Tommy Iseskog believes that Region Gävleborg violated the Work Environment Act.

Yes, definitely. This is a risk that you as a staff member must be aware of, and if you are not, the risks of these consequences obviously increase, that you can even be killed, says Tommy Iseskog to Kalla fakta.

The region does not want to answer why the staff was not warned, citing ongoing investigations.
