During the night towards Friday, the police authority in Utah released a surveillance video of a person "of interest" after the murder of the Republican debater Charlie Kirk. In the clip, the person is seen running over a roof shortly after the shooting and then jumping down to the ground, before running away from the scene.
On Thursday, the FBI released pictures of a suspected person wearing sunglasses and dark clothes.
Despite the police finding both a weapon and hand and shoe prints from the scene, the shooter is still at large.
Utah's governor Spencer Cox is now asking the public for tips.
We cannot do our job without the help of the public, he says.
We have people all over the country trying to bring the perpetrator to justice.
Cox states that over 7,000 tips have been received. It is the highest number of tips from the public since the terrorist attack at the Boston marathon in 2013, writes The Washington Post.
Charlie Kirk was shot dead while speaking in front of a large crowd at Utah Valley University on Wednesday, American time. The 31-year-old father of small children has been described as a superstar within the American right. He was close to President Donald Trump and is said to have been a contributing factor to why so many young Americans voted for Trump in last year's election.
Kirk's casket was taken to the city of Phoenix in Arizona on Thursday with the help of Air Force Two, the American vice president's plane. On board the plane were Kirk's widow as well as Vice President JD Vance.
